Ready, Set, Go!
The Ready, Set, Go program is aimed at improving English language and numeracy literacy levels, and developing the essential skills of immigrant and refugee youth in Lethbridge and district. The aim is to help them become employed and/or continue with formal education/training.
The program will:
- Provide immigrants and refugee youth with individualized training and support to enhance their literacy and essential skills, and increase their employability.
- Assist immigrant and refugee youth to become successful participants in the labour force for years to come.
The Ready, Set, Go program covers many topics such as resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, workplace safety and workplace culture. The program includes knowledge about social adaptation, rights and responsibilities, immigration procedures, and the path to becoming a Canadian citizen. The Ready, Set, Go program will facilitate a smoother transition for immigrant and refugee youth and will help them develop a career plan which will prepare them for employment and/or further education.
