Career & Employment Counselling
Career Counselling helps youth to make career decisions. It assists
participants in exploring their skills, interests, values and traits and
how these relate to possible career options. Youth can receive assistance
in researching labour market information, filling out grant applications
and student loan forms, and in researching various post-secondary programs.
Employment Counselling focuses on help youth find employment.
Participants receive assistance with resume and cover letter writing,
job search skills, interview skills, networking and life skills (ie. first impressions,
appearance, and social skills), as well as portfolio building. The counsellor
will access other 5th on 5th Youth Services employment programs such as Work Experience,
Workplace Training, Reach-Up, or Job Placement to assist the youth in finding a job.
