There were over 21,000 visits to our Labour Market last year, and many of these visits were from youth
seeking employment. Youth with all kinds of skills and experience use our Labour Market to search
for employment, write resumes, and get information about job safety.
If you are an employer, we can assist you to find qualified youth to fill your job
vacancies. Our services are free for employers and youth, and include:
- Free job postings
- Prescreening of candidates
- Wage cost sharing for qualified employers through our Work Experience, Workplace Training, and Reach-Up programs

Casual Labour
Employers and homeowners can benefit from using our Casual Labour Service. Casual Labour
runs year round and is both easy and cost effective. If you require a temporary employee, it is as
easy as this:
- Call our Casual Labour line at 380-HIRE (380-4473).
- Tell our Labour Market staff that you need a worker and answer a few questions about the job.
- When the youth arrives at the work site, tell the youth what needs to be accomplished.
- Pay the youth directly at the end of the job.
Casual Labour can be an excellent way to pre-screen for permanent employees, or to simply get those temporary
